DoorDash and Uber Eats have both expanded their Costco home delivery offerings to better compete with Instacart/Costco Same Day delivery. They’re still not in as many locations as Instacart, but they’re far more widely available than before.

How does pricing compare?

2 pounds of Natural & Kosher Mozzarella Cheese costs $9.59 in my local Costco. After linking your Costco member number, the cost on Instacart or Costco Same Day delivery is $10.55, or about a 10% markup.

On DoorDash, the cost is $10.67, or about an 11% markup. There is a $35 delivery minimum. With DashPass (free with many Chase cards) you can get free delivery on $60+ orders, but a 3.5% service fee applies, up to a $15.99 fee per order.

On Uber Eats, the cost is $10.74, or about a 12% markup. There is no delivery minimum. With Uber One (free with several AMEX cards) you can get free delivery on $35+ orders and waived service fees on $60+ orders, before promos.

Despite the higher markups, there are lots of ways to save with DoorDash and Uber Eats.

Uber Eats has several promos I was able to claim for 20% and 30% off retail store orders.

My DoorDash account was targeted with 20% off $100+ at Costco, up to $50 off with code: COSTCO20

That stacks with monthly $10 off DoorDash retail store orders provided by most Chase cards:

You can save even more by purchasing Uber or DoorDash gift cards from Costco:

You may be able to buy more gift cards than those limits in Costco stores.

If you have an Executive membership, you’ll also get a 2% rebate on gift card purchases and a 2% rebate on your Costco purchases made via Uber Eats and DoorDash!

Between all of these promos and savings, you should be paying far less than face value for Costco items, plus they’re delivered right to your door!
