This should have been on the Free games rotation.

This is currently relevant as it just got a 4k 60fps upgrade on PS5 and XBox series X. Added Dualsense haptics as well. This one is the good Ghost Recon game, not Breakpoint. Cool storyline, open world, and coop play. Put alot of hours in this when it was released and will probably pick it up again. There is also a free trial on PS5 today through the 10th.

FWIW, I think Breakpoint was actually better mechanically (gameplay wise) but they did make it a confusing mess with all of their daily nonsense, layers of different interfaces, upgrades, buying gear, branching mission system*, etc. I probably had 60+ hours in the game and I am not sure I still understand 50% of it.

*I actually 'beat' the game halfway through playing not realizing I was completing the final story mission way earlier than intended. Each group of mission sets were stories within a larger narrative arc so it wasn't a big deal just odd when I killed a ho-hum boss and suddenly I'm in some end game cinematic. The first game's story arc was also a mess because you just seem to be going after random 'capos' but it made more sense. Never ended up killing all the bosses since it seems like an endless list.

I think either game is well worth the money when purchased on sale. Wildlands gets big props for being able to play offline.
