It’s National Root Beer Float Day, and A&W is handing out a free small root beer float, no purchase necessary. Just stop by any participating U.S. location on Thursday, August 6, between 2 and 8pm local time.

While you’re there, you can round out the trip with a good cause. A&W is selling a collector’s mug for $10, and 100% of the proceeds go to DAV (Disabled American Veterans), a nonprofit that provides no-cost services to more than a million veterans and their families each year. Last year, A&W guests raised a record $175,000 for the organization.

Floats are available at participating restaurants only, so it’s worth calling ahead to confirm your local A&W is taking part. This deal is good on August 6 from 2 to 8pm and could change or end at any time!
